Conference Scope

The focus of BASYS is to discuss how human actors, emergent technologies and even organizations are integrated in order to redefine the way in which the value-creation process must be conceived and realized. As customers are being attracted to be involved in Co-Innovation Networks, improved responsiveness and agility is expected from industry ecosystems. Renewed production systems needs to be modelled, engineered and deployed in order to achieve cost effective solutions.

BASYS 2010 expects to discuss new approaches in automation where synergies between people, systems and organizations needs to be fully exploited in order to create high added-value products and services. Since pervasiveness will be at the heart of the next generation of Balanced Automation Systems, contributions on its research trends as well as emerging and potential applications to open innovation networks, advanced manufacturing and factory automation will be welcome.

Located at the edge of one of Spain's richest agricultural regions, on the eastern Mediterranean coast, Valencia is rapidly becoming a popular destination for worldwide travelers. Despite its nice weather (which averages 300 sunny days a year) and wonderful food, the city has also a lot of attractions to enjoy. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the futuristic-looking City of Arts and Sciences, a stunning complex, with a museum, theater, gardens and an aquarium, it is a place where visitors use to spend several hours in cultural, scientifical and natural exhibits . Other interesting cultural places are the Valencia Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), the bustling, bohemian Carmen barrio in the old city, the Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange) and the Central Market in the old city. Given its sunny disposition, in Valencia visitors almost always escape to the Malvarrosa beach, the closest and accessible by public transport Special mention for nigth live. Valencia’s Carmen district is one of the places where you can enjoy a plenty of bars and  terraces, and where to taste the typical drink ‘Agua de Valencia’.
